Endangered Species Uganda Tour

This is one of the most prestigious and rewarding tour Uganda can offer. This tour categories the following group as endangered; Rhinos, Elephants, Giraffes, Chimpanzee, Mountain Gorilla and the Batwa people (the Ugandan pygmy tribe).

The tour starts with the white Rhinos at the ziwa sanctuary in Nakasongola where the Rhinos are just being reintroduced in Uganda then to the Murchison falls for elephants and the Rothschild Giraffe,  800 of the 1000 in number that are still surviving.

Straight head to Kibale forest for the Chimpanzees and thereafter transfer to Bwindi for the famous mountain gorilla and finally the Batwa. This is a premium tour and the most rewarding as it offers the client the opportunity to directly contribute to the survival of these species as 3% of the total cost is for the conservation activities of the said activities.

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport

 You will be welcomed by a representative from Eden adventures at Entebbe Airport. From here you will be transferred to Kampala in a Hotel pre arranged for your overnight stay.

Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Depart Kampala to Nakasongola for our first encounter of the endangered species (17 White Rhinos). This is the breeding sanctuary with the main aim of reintroducing Rhinos in Uganda. Learn how the sanctuary operates and thereafter head for the “horny friends” tracking.

This is a unique and rewarding experience suitable for everyone. After the experience, return to a Lodge of your pre-selected preference to windup the day.

After breakfast we head to Murchison falls national park.

En route we have a lunch stop in Masindi and proceed to the park. On reaching the park in the afternoon we will drive to the top of the falls from which the park was named. At the top of the falls you will see where the Nile perfects its beauty. You will see how the calm Nile transforms into a thunderous roar of white water falling deep down about 45m.

After, you will transfer to a Lodge of your pre-selected preference for dinner and overnight.

Endangered species safari and Launch cruise on Victoria Nile.

Before dawn we wake up and have breakfast to go for a game drive in search for predators and early risers and the main subject of the endangered species is giraffes and elephants.

Generally the drive will reward you with game like hyenas, giraffes, Lions, birds, Hartebeests, buffalos, elephants, primates and others.

After the game drive you will return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch.

In the afternoon you will go for a cruise on the great Victoria Nile to the Bottom of the falls. The boat ride will reward you with water game like hippos, crocodiles, elephants and plenty of birds dashing and walking along the banks.

Transfer to Kibale forest

After breakfast you will transfer to Kibale National Park via the Butiaba rift valley escarpment which offers magnificent panorama view, have lunch in Hoima enroute and arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at a Lodge of your pre-selected preference

Chimpanzee tracking Kibale / Nature walk

Morning transfer to Kibale National Park headquarters to go track chimpanzees. The park is known to harbour the largest number of primates in Uganda. Therefore the guided forest walk will not only reward you with chimps but with other primates like the grey cheeked Mangabeys, black and Red tailed colobus monkeys, baboons, phoestes, and others.  In the afternoon you will go for another guided nature walk to the Bigodi swamp where you will see plenty of rare fauna and flora. Dinner and overnight at a Lodge of your pre-selected preference

Transfer to Queen

Have breakfast to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park harbours over 100 mammals with 600 bird species which make it a superb safari territory well worth paying a visit.

You will reach the park in the afternoon to have lunch and then go for the afternoon cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George. This boat ride will reward you with water animals like Hippos, buffaloes, and plenty of water birds like the African Kingfisher, pink and white pelicans, African fish Eagle and many more.

The highlight of day will be crowned with a SUN DOWNER COCKTAIL and the Bush Dinner. Over overnight stay at to a Lodge of your pre-selected preference

Experiential game viewing and a visit to the salt mines and the fishing village in Katwe at Lake Edward

Early morning cup of Tea after depart for morning game drive with a unique experiential tour with the “Uganda Carnivore project” that will take you to as close as possible to the lions. Return to the lodge for proper breakfast and thereafter a visit to the Katwe salt lake, back to the lodge for lunch and total relaxation at the lodge and pool the rest of the afternoon. Over night at a Lodge of your pre-selected preference

Transfer to Bwindi and game drive to the Ishasha sector

With packed lunch drive to Ishasha sector and search for the tree climbing lions and also catch up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts.

The drive will reward you with game like spotted hyenas, leopards, Lions, Uganda Kob, Bushbucks, waterbucks, buffaloes and many more. Retire from the game drive and proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening.

Dinner and overnight stay at a Lodge of your pre-selected preference

Gorilla Tracking

After an early breakfast proceed for briefing and registration by the park rangers as you get ready for gorilla tracking, You will be advised on the dos and don’ts. The ranger guide will direct you through the forest pushing and cutting your way through the impenetrable forest up to the gorillas.

This activity will take two to five hours or more. A moderate degree of fitness is required and you are advised to carry walking sticks, backpack, rain gears, jungle boots, insect repellants and water.

You will enjoy sitting down among these apes as they eat lush vegetation, playing and grumbling and the silver back occasionally drumming their chest. Sitting besides these apes in the heart of the impenetrable jungle can be awesome, considering that these are the last remaining populations of the endangered mountain gorillas. The giant size of the dominant silverbacks in the groups is amazing.

You will be mesmerized as you sit among these close relatives of man and have opportunities of taking pictures you may also encounter other primates: The black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, the grey cheecked mangabey, the l’ hoest monkey and red tailed monkey. As you slowly return back to the lodge and relax the rest of the evening.

Batwa Trail

After the Gorilla adventure, crown the tour with the Batwa experience trail. This takes you through how the Batwa people used to live and how they are living with difficulties at present.  It’s a whole day experience of demonstration of the Batwa people forest life. Dinner and over night stay at a Lodge of your pre-selected preference.

Drive to Kampala.
In the morning you will have breakfast and then drive back to Kampala. You will stop in one of the towns along the way for lunch and at the equator for photographs. You will then drive to reach Kampala in the evening.

City Tour of Kampala

Depending on the flight time, after breakfast proceed for a city tour of Kampala. This is inclusive of an English-speaking guide, Uganda Museum, National Theatre, Gadafi Mosque, Bahai Temple, Makerere University, and other areas of cultural interest.

Lunch  and later transfer to the Entebbe International Airport for the onward flight.
